Job summary

UW Medical Center – Northwest is seeking a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (Per Diem) in Seattle for the Ultrasound department. Under radiologist supervision, you will perform diagnostic ultrasound exams (abdomen, OB/GYN, small parts) and support interventional procedures with real-time imaging, Doppler, and color flow.

You will prepare patients, ensure accurate image capture, and assist with reports and scheduling within a fast-paced radiology team at UW Medical Center Northwest.

Qualifications

• Completion of diagnostic ultrasound program accredited by the CAAHEP.
• Registered in abdominal and obstetrical ultrasound OR eligibility through ARDMS.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patient and independently performs ultrasound exams including abdomen, OB/GYN, small parts, and intra-operative.
• Assists radiologist with invasive and vascular procedures; maneuvers 2-D, real-time, M-Mode, Doppler and color flow.
• Evaluates patient condition from referring physician, medical records and interview; selects appropriate exam instrumentation.
• Performs portable procedures including bedside, OR, ER and other areas outside the ultrasound suite.
• Produces and reviews ultrasound images; inputs orders, patient data and charges; assists with scheduling and image library.
