Job summary

Island Health in Washington is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to perform ultrasound exams in accordance with physician orders.

The role requires ARDMS eligible status with RDMS certification preferred, BLS, and at least one year of General and OB/GYN ultrasound experience. You will position patients, optimize images, and communicate findings to radiologists while maintaining safety and patient comfort.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an ARDMS eligible program.
• Active RDMS certification; RVT certification encouraged.
• BLS certification required.
• Minimum of one year experience in General and OB/GYN ultrasound strongly preferred.
• Work environment includes exposure to indoor health care conditions and moderate noise.

Responsibilities

• Applies insonating ultrasound energy to human tissue for diagnostic purposes.
• Positions patients accurately to produce sonograms as prescribed.
• Maintains knowledge of ultrasound physics and machine knobology; troubleshoots equipment.
