Ochsner Health System in Lafayette, LA is seeking a PRN Sonographer for the OLG Ortho Ultrasound unit. You will perform advanced diagnostic ultrasound procedures and mentor junior staff and students. A CAHEA-approved education and RDMS eligibility are required, with BLS CPR.

Weekend and on‑call flexibility is expected. In collaboration with staff radiologists, you will ensure safety protocols, facilitate imaging workflows, and participate in quality control.

Formación

• Completion of a CAHEA approved formal training program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
• Preferred - 2 years Sonographer experience.
• Certification RDMS or registry eligible within 1 year of hire; BLS from the American Heart Association.

Responsabilidades

• Verifies physician order and procedure to assure accuracy.
• Explains procedure to patient to ensure understanding.
• Independently operates imaging equipment according to protocol and assists radiologists.
• Reviews patient images for diagnostic quality.
• Assists in department operations (inventory, staff schedules, equipment maintenance).
• Adapts communication to patient population and respects privacy.
