Job summary

Techtronic Industries seeks an innovative engineer for its Advanced Concepts team in Anderson, SC. You will develop prototypes and demos, collaborating with industrial designers and engineers to evaluate feasibility for future products.

The role emphasizes hands-on prototyping, rapid fabrication, and cross‑functional communication to translate concepts into tangible demonstrations for RYOBI and RIDGID brands. A strong design background is essential.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, Product Design, or related field.
3+ years of product design, concept development, and functional prototyping.
Advanced proficiency in 3D CAD modeling (NX/SolidWorks).
Experience building functional prototypes integrating mechanical, electrical, and software components.
Hands-on rapid prototyping techniques and test methods.
Experience with embedded electronics and controls (Arduino, Raspberry Pi, sensors, motors).
Familiarity with test & measurement equipment for performance testing.
Knowledge of user-centered design methodologies and iterative concept refinement.

Responsibilities

Ideate and create prototypes that demonstrate future solutions for product needs.
Ideate and create demos showcasing product performance and features.
Collaborate with Industrial Designers, Mechanical and Electrical Engineers.
Build and manage budget, schedule, and quality to meet milestones.
Communicate technical details to both technical and non-technical teammates.
