Job summary

Vail Resorts is seeking a highly skilled Advanced Shuttle Driver to provide safe, reliable transportation throughout the Northstar resort area. This winter-season role requires expertise in mountain driving, guest service, and commercial passenger vehicle operation.

The position offers a winter seasonal contract with full-time and part-time hours and requires a valid CDL with Passenger Endorsement, 1–2 years of driving experience, and a strong focus on safety and customer service.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Valid CDL with Passenger Endorsement.
  • 1–2 years of commercial passenger vehicle driving experience.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Satisfactory 10-year MVR.
  • Ability to pass DOT drug screening and physical requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Safely transport guests and employees to designated locations on and off resort property.
  • Operate shuttle vehicles on fixed-route and on-demand transportation services.
  • Perform and document daily vehicle inspections and report maintenance concerns.
  • Maintain cleanliness and overall condition of assigned vehicles.
  • Provide guests with information regarding resort amenities, activities, and transportation services.
  • Assist guests with transportation applications and service information.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch using two-way radio systems.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with radio communications and emergency procedures.
  • Install and remove tire chains as required.
  • Safely operate vehicles in winter weather and mountain driving conditions.
  • Adhere to all DOT regulations, company policies, and safety standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and maintain schedule flexibility.

Job Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Valid Class A or Class B CDL with Passenger Endorsement.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of commercial passenger vehicle driving experience.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Satisfactory 10-year Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
  • Experience driving in winter and mountain conditions.
  • Ability to pass DOT drug screening and physical requirements.
  • Current DOT Medical Certificate or ability to obtain one.
  • Successful completion of a background check.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Advanced knowledge of commercial passenger transportation safety, strong guest service skills, vehicle inspection procedures, radio communications, sound decision-making, and commitment to safety.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit for extended periods, enter and exit vehicles frequently, lift and handle tire chains, work outdoors in winter conditions, and perform vehicle safety inspections.

The expected pay range is$27.00/hr - $29.22/hr. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
