Job summary

Albemarle County Public Schools Building Services in Charlottesville, Virginia is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic III to perform advanced skilled work in servicing, repair and maintenance of school facilities and equipment.

This full-time position requires knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC or carpentry, ability to read plans and blueprints, and may require on-call shifts. Starting date immediately; salary $22.27–$26.72 hourly; benefits included.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and five years of Building Services experience or equivalent.
• Drug screening and tuberculin test required; valid Virginia driver’s license.
• Ability to read complex plans and blueprints; knowledge of safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced skilled work in electrical, plumbing, HVAC or carpentry.
• Troubleshoot, repair and maintain facility equipment and systems.
• Establish safe practices and respond to service requests for HVAC and other systems.
• Provide cost estimations for repairs and maintenance; may be on-call.
