Gainesville Regional Utilities is seeking a Billing & Customer Solutions Specialist to support complex utility billing and customer service operations. The role involves handling billing issues, maintaining accurate customer records, and coordinating with field teams to ensure timely service delivery.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years in utility billing or customer service, strong analytical skills, and proficiency with CIS and MS Office.

Formación

• Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in utility billing and public contact or customer service relations.
• Experience in municipal, governmental, or utility-sector customer service or billing.
• Proficiency with CIS and utility billing platforms.
• Strong analytical skills with experience reconciling complex billing/financial records.
• Experience handling high-volume customer interactions and escalations.
• Knowledge of utility rate structures and regulatory requirements.
• Training or mentoring experience supporting new or existing staff.

Responsabilidades

• Serves as the primary point of contact for customers and stakeholders; researches issues and follows up.
• Handles complex billing and customer service inquiries; analyzes deposits and resolves issues.
• Updates and validates customer data in CIS; ensures data integrity and accuracy.
• Prepares and issues bills, invoices, statements, credits, debits, and adjustments.
• Processes move-in/move-out/transfer requests for residential and commercial accounts.
• Creates service activation and termination work orders; coordinates with field teams.
• Analyzes meter reading exception reports and resolves related issues.
• Performs routine financial calculations including prorations and service charges.
