The Virginia Department of Social Services is seeking a professional to support Adult Services/Adult Protective Services. You will respond to intake calls, gather information in person or by phone, meet walk-ins, link CPS cases, and enter data into PeerPlace, while assisting in eligibility determinations and referrals.

This role requires strong communication, discretion, and the ability to work with diverse clients in a public service setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma with post-secondary coursework in social work, human services, gerontology, or related field and relevant work experience in public administrative support or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Bachelor's degree in a Human Services field is preferred, with at least two years of related aging-experience being a plus.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license and ability to pass background checks may be required.

Responsabilités

• Respond to calls to the AS/APS Intake line and obtain information in-person or by phone.
• Meet with AS/APS walk-ins and link CPS walk-ins with CPS intake.
• Enter mandated information and assign AS/APS cases into PeerPlace; determine eligibility for AS services.
• Provide referrals for community-based services and maintain case records and communications with clients and professionals.
