Job summary

The Georgia Department of Human Services, Division of Aging Services, is seeking an APS Central Intake Specialist to gather referrals, assess eligibility, and document findings in Harmony. The role supports protective services outreach and coordinates investigations or interventions as needed.

Under supervision, the incumbent will travel as required and work to ensure accurate case documentation, timely responses, and compliance with state policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 1 year of APS Intake CM 1 experience.
• Public service experience is valued.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Gathers referral information from reporters via telephone interviews, written reports or face-to-face contacts.
• Assesses APS referral information to determine if criteria are met.
• Documents findings and maintains accurate records in Harmony.
• Prepares acknowledgement letters and sources information for investigations or interventions.
• Updates Harmony with case status and notes ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Clears names and maintains confidentiality while handling sensitive information.
