CNM Central New Mexico Community College is hiring an Adult Basic Education (ABE) Technician to assist in departmental operations and support adult learners. Responsibilities include administering assessments, tracking instructional hours, and providing student advisement.

The Adult Basic Education (ABE) Technician (AKA: Adult Basic Education Jr. Navigator) at CNM plays a crucial role in providing comprehensive assistance to the ABE Department. The position's responsibilities include administering and scoring standardized student assessments, facilitating student intake, advisement, and registration in compliance with the requirements of ABE federal and state‑funded grants. The technician contributes insights to help develop best practices for ABE departmental operations, focusing on assisting students in obtaining their high school equivalency and/or learning English as a second language. This position assists with administrative tasks, such as maintaining student records and organizing educational materials, and plays a crucial role in creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment for adult learners seeking to improve their basic skills.
Shift: Monday-Thursday 10 am-7 pm, Friday 8 am-5 pm, some Saturday work.
Term: Limited Term End Date 6-30-2027. Grant‑funded position renewed yearly, currently funded through June 2027.
Compensation: $18.22 - $22.97.
High School Diploma or GED and two (2) years of related experience.
Preference: Bilingual in Spanish and English.
