Job summary

Central New Mexico Community College in Albuquerque is seeking a Student Recruitment Specialist to develop and implement outreach strategies that attract diverse prospective students, including dual credit, first-time freshmen and transfers.

You will collaborate with the Student Recruitment Manager, conduct presentations, manage inquiries, coordinate on- and off-campus events, and contribute to orientation updates while maintaining records and monthly reports.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree required and two years related experience or three to four terms as a Student Ambassador in EMSS.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.
  • Strong communication and presentation abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Assist and communicate with prospective students through admissions and onboarding processes.
  • Promote activities to enhance student enrollment and coordinate on- and off-campus recruitment.
  • Build relationships with staff, faculty, schools, and community organizations for recruitment.
  • Respond to information requests, conduct presentations, and perform data entry and reporting.
  • Maintain records of recruitment activities and assist with orientation programs.
  • Represent CNM at events and participate in committees as needed.

The Student Recruitment Specialist works under the guidance of the Student Recruitment Manager to facilitate student recruitment endeavors aimed at engaging a diverse array of prospective students. The role entails reaching out to various demographics, including dual credit students, first-time freshmen, transfer students, and returning students.**Duties & Responsibilities*** Assists and maintains communication with prospective students throughout the admissions application and onboarding process; answers questions and conducts presentations for programs offered at the College utilizing customer service experience learned in any industry.* Promotes activities to enhance student enrollment and identifies, coordinates, and schedules on- and off-campus recruitment.* Establishes and maintains relationships with staff and faculty to compile and disseminate current College information for recruitment and orientation purposes; and works closely with prospective students, parents, secondary and postsecondary schools, and community organizations in an effort to build, maintain, and grow professional relationships.* Responds to requests for information, conducts presentations, and performs data entry and retrieval working with the general public.* Maintains internal records and reports, including student recruitment and outreach activities among other required monthly reports.* May assist with organizing and conducting New Student Orientation presentations, developing new orientations, making updates or improvements for existing orientations, and working with the online platform that houses the online orientations.* Performs self-assessment and other related research for recruitment, outreach, and sales-related efforts.* Attends and supports various on- and off-campus events both recurring and as needed, including conducting campus tours.* Presents various written and oral presentations and other content to diverse groups, including potential students, employers, industry leaders, and various community stakeholder organizations.* Represents CNM and programs at public events, sometimes working outside the department's regular hours.* Participates on committees and performs other duties as assigned.* Performs other related duties as assigned.**Minimum Qualifications:*** Associate's degree+ AND+ Two (2) years related experience.* OR* Three to four (3 to 4) terms of directly related experience as a Student Ambassador within the Enrollment Management Student Success (EMSS) division* **Preference: Bilingual in Spanish and English*** **Best Consideration Date: 10/17/26*** **Westside Campus*** **Shift: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm; occasional Saturday****EEO STATEMENT:**As an EEO employer, Central New Mexico Community College will not discriminate in our employment practices based on an applicant's race, ethnicity, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, serious medical condition or status as a protected veteran or spousal affiliation.
