Job summary

OpenAI is seeking a senior ads revenue accountant to own accounting and controllership for Ads revenue across ASC 606, close, and controls. You will translate complex commercial terms into scalable financial processes and partner with Product, Engineering, Data, Billing, Tax, Legal, and Financial Systems to scale our Ads platform responsibly.

The role requires 6+ years in ads revenue accounting or controllership, CPA, multi-currency billing experience, and a track record of building 0-to-1

Qualifications

6+ years of progressive accounting experience, including ads revenue accounting or controllership.
CPA or equivalent with strong ASC 606 knowledge and judgement on revenue sharing and incentives.
Direct experience with high-volume ads revenue or monetization models is required.
Experience with multi-currency billing and global invoicing/localization is preferred.

Responsibilities

Own end-to-end accounting and controllership for Ads revenue and related close activities under ASC 606.
Design scalable month-end and quarter-end close processes with reconciliations and flux analysis.
Build global accounting frameworks for currency, billing entities, and localization.
Translate contractual terms into operational accounting workflows with policy alignment.
Partner with Product, Engineering, Data, Billing, Tax, Legal to validate measurement logic.
Lead audit support, documentation, and remediation for Ads revenue accounting.
Apply AI, data tooling, and automation to improve close speed and control execution.
