Job summary

OpenAI is seeking a Senior Ads Revenue Accounting leader to own technical assessment and operational execution of products, pricing, contracts, and incentives. The role drives governance, policy, and end-to-end revenue processes for Ads as OpenAI scales monetization responsibly.

The candidate will collaborate with Product, Engineering, Data, Sales, Legal, Tax, and Finance, and will guide 0-to-1 process building in a fast-changing environment across the US.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive experience in revenue accounting with ASC 606 judgments.
• Ability to independently set direction, prioritize risks, and influence senior stakeholders.
• Experience with digital advertising, adtech, marketplaces, or high-volume transactions.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical accounting assessments for Ads products and arrangements, including performance obligations and revenue presentation.
• Own and evolve Ads revenue accounting policies as product behavior and pricing change.
• Establish governance for new products and accounting decisions including escalation thresholds and launch approvals.
• Translate accounting conclusions into requirements for product design, contracting, billing, data, estimates, close, and controls.
• Own the operating cadence for incentive and makegood accounting, accruals, settlements, reconciliations, and control evidence.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, Data, Sales, Legal, Tax, Billing, and Accounting on launches and expansions.
• Prepare concise technical memos and align conclusions with auditors.
• Use data, AI, and automation to improve Finance workflows with proper reviews.
