Spurwink is seeking a Masters level Adoption Matching Coordinator to join our Adoption Matching Program. The role involves meeting with licensed resource families and children awaiting adoption, assessing skills and abilities, and recommending matches using best practices.

The position is part-time with travel within the geographic area, with potential to go full-time in the near future. Masters degree required and Maine LMSW/LCSW/LCPC licensure, plus extensive experience with children and

Qualifications

  • Masters degree in Social Work or Counseling from an accredited school.
  • Maine state licensure of a LMSW/LCSW/LCPC. Must maintain required licensing.
  • Previous experience working with, and assessing children and families is required.

Responsibilities

  • Gathers information and documents about children and families with DHHS.
  • Meet with families and children, write biographies, and complete assessments.
  • Review information to assess matching attributes and readiness.
  • Enter data into databases within timelines.
  • Assess individuals and families and make adoptive matching recommendations.
  • Provide education and clinical recommendations to promote adoption readiness.
