Job summary

North Shore Animal League America is seeking a Foster Care Associate to support the daily operations of the Foster Care Department. You will assist with foster placement, coordinate animal care, engage foster families, and promote foster animals through social media and outreach events.

You will work closely with the Foster Care Manager to expand the foster network, facilitate successful placements, and ensure high standards of animal welfare across all activities.

Qualifications

• Experience handling canines and felines of all sizes with patience and compassion.
• Knowledge of shelter operations, animal health, and behavior.
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Strong communication, customer service, and active listening skills.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and perform shelter-related tasks.
• Flexible availability, including evenings and one weekend day per week.

Requirements

• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Skilled in administrative tasks, including data entry, filing, scanning, and record keeping.
• Strong communication, customer service, and active listening skills.
• Experience creating content for social media platforms such as Instagram and Facebook.
• Able to work independently and collaboratively with staff and volunteers.
• Capable of lifting up to 40 lbs. and performing physical shelter-related tasks.
• Flexible availability, including evenings and one weekend day per week.
• Passion for animal rescue and supporting NSALA's mission.

Salary: $18.00 per hour
