Job summary

SJRC Texas is seeking a Wendy’s Wonderful Kids Recruiter in Crystal City, TX to identify adoptive homes and support families through adoptions as part of the Dave Thomas Foundation program. The role requires sensitivity to diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds and involves heavy travel up to 95% of the workweek.

The recruiter will conduct referrals, build relationships with children, review case records, recruit potential families, and prepare readiness assessments to advance adoptions.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Child Welfare or related field plus two years of relevant work experience, or 60 credits hours plus two years relevant work experience, or 90 credits hours plus one year of related work experience.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Child Welfare or related field.
• Certifications: Valid Texas Driver’s License and dependable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial referrals and establish contact with Adoption Specialist to begin case review and schedule first meeting.
• Maintain monthly in-person meetings with each child to build trust and openness.
• Review case records and develop recruitment plans identifying needs and services.
• Identify and contact potential adoptive families and maintain ongoing engagement.
• Prepare adoption readiness assessments and provide quarterly updates.
