Job summary

A Connecticut nonprofit skilled nursing facility in Woodbury is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to join its clinical leadership team. Reporting to the Director of Nursing, the ADON will help plan, organize, and direct daily operations of the Nursing Services Department, lead charge nurses and supervisors, and support regulatory compliance.

Key duties include overseeing rounds, supervising staff, coordinating care with physicians and interdisciplinary teams, contributing to QAPI

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (ADN/BSN).
• Current, unencumbered RN license in CT.
• Active CPR certification.
• Minimum 2 years nursing supervisory/leadership in SNF/hospital.
• Minimum 6 months rehabilitative/restorative nursing experience.
• Knowledge of long-term care regulations and CMS Participation.
• Strong clinical judgment, documentation skills, and problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and directing daily nursing operations in compliance with standards.
• Provide leadership to Charge Nurses and Supervisors; train staff.
• Conduct daily rounds to monitor care delivery and infection prevention.
• Lead development of resident care plans and PASARR involvement.
• Manage staffing, assignments, and daily staffing information.
• Support recruitment, licensing verification, and performance appraisals.
• Coordinate care with physicians and interdisciplinary teams.
• Lead QAPI initiatives and participate in surveys.
• Oversee medication administration and scheduling; report errors.
• Assist with budgeting and resource planning; support staff development.
