Job summary

PACS Group is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to assist the Director of Nursing in supervising licensed and non-licensed staff providing care to residents around the clock.

Responsibilities include staff development, policy implementation, hiring, appraisals, and ensuring resident safety and rights. The role may involve direct resident care and requires strong leadership in a long-term care setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred and in good standing with the State Board of Nursing.
• Continuing education/licensing requirements must be maintained.

Responsibilities

• Assist DON in planning, developing and supervising nursing staff activities.
• Assist in development and implementation of nursing services, policies, and procedures.
• Recruit, hire and train nursing staff in collaboration with DON.
• Support employee appraisals and disciplinary actions as needed.
• Oversee clinical operations including daily rounds and resident condition monitoring.
• Ensure resident safety and rights are upheld.
• Act as back-up for DON, RN and LVN staff when needed.
• Provide direct resident care as required.
• Liaise with residents, families, and physicians; attend staff meetings; prepare reports for DON.
