Job summary

PACS is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to assist the Director of Nursing in directing licensed and non-licensed staff providing health care and nursing services to residents on a 24/7 basis.

The ADON will help plan, develop and supervise nursing activities, recruit and train staff, conduct appraisals, and oversee clinical operations to ensure resident safety and quality of care, with liaison to families and physicians.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an Accredited School of Nursing with a BSN preferred.
• Must be in good standing with the State Board of Nursing and maintain continuing education/licensing.
• 3–5 years of nurse management experience, preferably in long-term care.

Responsibilities

• Assist DON in planning, developing and supervising nursing activities.
• Assist in developing and implementing nursing services, policies and procedures.
• Recruit, hire and train nursing staff; assist with employee appraisals.
• Oversee clinical operations, daily rounds and resident safety.
• Liaise with residents, families and physicians; attend staff meetings.
• Design, implement and evaluate nursing systems to ensure consistent care.
