Job summary

PACS Group in the United States seeks an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to assist the Director of Nursing in directing licensed and non-licensed personnel delivering 24/7 nursing care. The role emphasizes planning, supervision, and staff development to ensure high-quality resident care.

The ADON will participate in recruitment, training and performance appraisals, while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and resident rights.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred; must be in good standing with the State Board.
• 3–5 years of nurse management experience, preferably in a long-term care facility.
• Must maintain required continuing education/licensing and stay current with regulatory changes.

Responsibilities

• Assist the DON in planning, developing and supervising nursing staff activities.
• Assist in development and implementation of nursing services, policies and procedures.
• Recruit, hire and train nursing staff in collaboration with the DON.
• Provide staff performance appraisals and address disciplinary actions as needed.
• Act as back-up for the DON, RN and LVN staff.
• Oversee clinical operations, daily rounds, and monitor resident conditions.
• Ensure resident safety and respectful treatment of residents.
• Liaise with residents, families and physicians; attend staff meetings as needed.
• Prepare reports and recommendations to the DON on nursing services operations.
• Assist with design, implementation and evaluation of nursing systems to ensure consistent care delivery.
• Support ongoing in-services for nursing staff; maintain confidentiality.
