Job summary

Aspire Senior Living Excelsior Springs is seeking an experienced Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to join our leadership team. You will partner with the Director of Nursing to provide clinical leadership, support nursing operations, develop team members, ensure regulatory compliance, and elevate resident care in a community setting.

The ADON will oversee infection prevention and wound care programs, mentor nursing staff, and lead quality assurance activities.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the state of practice.
• BSN is preferred.
• 3–5 years of clinical nursing experience in long‑term care, skilled nursing, or similar.
• Previous nursing leadership, supervisory, ADON, or similar experience preferred.
• Experience with infection prevention, infection surveillance, wound care, and antibiotic stewardship preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership and direction to nursing staff in collaboration with the DON.
• Assist with recruiting, hiring, onboarding, orientation, scheduling support, and ongoing supervision of nursing personnel.
• Foster a collaborative, accountable, and resident‑centered care environment.
• Mentor nurses and nursing assistants in professional development.
• Support performance evaluations, coaching, and corrective action as needed.
• Serve as a clinical resource and visible nursing leader in the community.
• Oversee Infection Prevention and Wound Care programs and align with regulatory requirements.
• Monitor resident conditions, review care plans, and participate in rounds and interdisciplinary rounds.
• Contribute to QAPI activities, audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Assist with regulatory surveys, compliance, and development of plans of correction.
