What is Your Role?
The Assistant Director of Nursing position is responsible for assisting the Director of Health Services in planning, organizing, developing and directing the day-to-day functions of the Health Services Department in accordance with federal, state and local regulations and standards, ensuring that each resident receives quality care, and maintains or attains the highest practical physical, mental and psychosocial well-being. This position ensures resident rights, dignity, freedom of choice and individuality, and is knowledgeable of recent events which may have an impact on each resident. In the absence of the Director of Health Services, the Assistant Director of Nursing will carry out the resident care policies established by the facility. This role will communicate with Doctor(s), families and other healthcare professionals and assist with the completion of quarterly and annual MDS assessments, as needed. Written and oral reports/recommendations to the Director will be part of this function. This position requires excellent communication skills with team members, residents and family members and a high level of patience and compassion for others. On-call responsibilities may include weekends and evenings; participation in State survey will be expected.
