Job summary

Shore Acres Care Center in Saint Petersburg, FL, seeks an Assistant Director of Nursing to lead staff development and education for nursing personnel in a long‑term care setting.

The ADON will interpret center policies, ensure regulatory compliance, and oversee education programs while aiding in hiring, retention, and performance evaluations. A flexible schedule and on‑call rotation are required.

Qualifications

• RN license required.
• Infection control certification (CDC) required.
• Experience with PointClickCare software.
• CPR and IV certification required.
• Clinical leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct, plan and coordinate education of professional and auxiliary nursing staff.
• Interpret center policies to nursing personnel and ensure compliance.
• Assist in hiring, retention, discipline and performance evaluations of clinical staff.
• Meet deadlines for weekly and monthly reporting.

Job description

The Assistant Director of Nursing is responsible for education of nursing staff in the center. He/she directs, plans, and coordinates education of professional Nursing and auxiliary Nursing personnel. The Assistant Director of Nursing interprets center policies and regulations to all Nursing personnel and ensures compliance, as well as analyzes and evaluates Nursing and related services rendered to improve quality of customer care and to better utilize staff time and abilities.

ADON Responsibilities

• We are looking to hire a highly motivated Assistant Director of Nursing with a staff development and education background.
• Infection Control duties (Nursing Home Infection Preventionist Cert from CDC Required)
• Will assist in hiring, retention, discipline, and performance evals of clinical staff.
• Must be able to meet deadlines for projects and for reporting on a weekly and monthly basis.
• This is a salaried position that must be able to work a flexible schedule.
• Nurse-On-Call on a rotational basis.

ADON Requirements

• Valid RN nursing license
• Ability to quickly learn and navigate Point Click Care software
• Valid CPR & IV Certification
• Clinical Leadership experience preferred
