Job summary

Meridell Achievement Center, a 134-bed psychiatric residential treatment facility northwest of Austin, is seeking an RN to provide direct patient care and oversee the care team. You will assess patients, implement treatment plans, administer medications, and ensure a safe, therapeutic milieu for youth aged 10–17.

The role requires a Texas RN license, BSN, and (preferably) psychiatric experience in a long-term setting.

Qualifications

• BSN from an accredited school of nursing.
• One year psychiatric / neuropsychiatric experience with adolescents and/or young adults in a long-term hospital or residential setting preferred.
• Knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques and understanding of mental illness, preferred.
• Current Texas Registered Nurse License
• Current driver license.

Responsibilities

• Provides physical assessments of patients and documents care.
• Implements treatment plans and evaluates response to treatment.
• Administers medications as prescribed.
• Acts as shift supervisor of Mental Health Technicians and LVN staff.
• Ensures a safe and therapeutic environment for patients.
