Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• 0-1 year of experience.
• Must have a basic understanding of the core Microsoft suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
• Excellent communication and outstanding customer service and listing skills.
• Basic keyboarding skills.
• Critical thinking, sound judgment and strong problem-solving skills.
• Team oriented, open minded, flexible, and willing to learn.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy required.
• Ability to prioritize and function effectively in a fast-paced department.

Responsabilités

• Verify and enter patient demographic, employer, financial, and insurance data into Epic with high accuracy.
• Obtain patient signatures and scan necessary admission documents.
• Explain insurance benefits and patient financial responsibilities to patients and staff.
• Determine patient financial obligations and communicate clearly and respectfully.
• Perform registration functions in accordance with HIPAA and payer requirements.
• Notify admissions to secure payment with payer when admission is decided.
• Inform patients of hospital policies affecting revenue cycle and discuss payment options.
• Answer inquiries from patients, payers, physicians, and staff.
• Collaborate with departments to resolve issues affecting hospital reimbursement.
• Maintain knowledge of applicable laws and Rush policies; protect patient confidentiality.
• Attend EPIC training sessions and other relevant sessions.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
