Job summary

Rush University Medical Center is seeking a RUSH Access Center Specialist I in Chicago to manage clinical and non-clinical calls and perform scheduling, triage, and referral management. You will collaborate with team members to meet access, revenue, and scheduling objectives while upholding Rush policies and patient privacy.

The role requires strong communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills, with experience in Salesforce, Genesys, and Epic systems.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in patient care or related setting strongly preferred.
• Bilingual skills a plus.
• Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answers all telephone calls within your work assignment as designated by leadership with the goal of accurately scheduling patients per departmental and Epic guidelines.
• Evaluates non-scheduling related patient inquiries including clinical related calls; routes and escalates inquiries following departmental and Epic clinical guidelines.
• Assesses caller’s need and responds with sound judgment to ensure appropriate resolution; knows when to escalate to nurse or leadership.
• Responsible for leveraging Salesforce and Genesys platforms to optimize patient interactions and workflow efficiency; ensures documentation and resolution in integrated systems.
• Proactively monitor areas of concern relating to Epic build issues and suggest possible resolutions.
• Exhibits understanding of Rush Access Center processes including questionnaires, subgroups, auto search, pre-registration, message templates, radiology workflows, and referral capture and insurance networks.
• Adheres to specialized workflows for multiple departments; follows Epic scheduling protocols and practices.
