Job summary

Georgia Southern University, located in Statesboro, Georgia, is seeking an Admissions Processor to review freshman, transfer, post-baccalaureate, transient, and returning student applications and to articulate transfer credit.

Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Admissions Processing, you will also provide admission decisions for all student populations and counsel prospective students and families on admissions procedures.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Two or more years of related work experience (education could substitute for work experience).
  • Preferred: experience with Banner and Technolutions Slate CRM; experience in Admissions or Registrar Offices.
  • Proven proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office, Google apps, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Enter data from applications and related documents into Banner and Slate.
  • Scan and index documents using Banner Document Management and Slate; download/index electronic transcripts.
  • Perform RHSC evaluations and calculate HS GPAs for incoming students.
  • Articulate transfer credit information and submit course evaluations for transfer populations.
  • Perform application updates (term changes, personal information, major changes).
  • Review materials to determine admission eligibility based on university requirements.
  • Assist with on-campus recruitment and orientation events, including some after-hours or weekend duties.
  • Answer inquiries from students, parents, and counselors about admissions policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with Admissions Counselors to help meet enrollment goals.

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Assistant Director of AdmissionsProcessing, the Admissions Processor is responsible for reviewingprospective freshman, transfer, post-baccalaureate, transient, andreturning student application files. This position also articulatestransfer credit, provides admission decisions for all studentpopulations, and assists with counseling prospectivestudents/families on admissions procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Enter data from application and related documents into theBanner Student Information System and Technolutions Slate
  • Scan and index documents using Banner Document Management (BDM)and Technolutions Slate including downloading and indexingelectronic transcripts
  • Perform Required High School Curriculum (RHSC) evaluations andcalculate High School GPAs for incoming students
  • Articulate transfer credit information and submit courseevaluations for transfer student populations
  • Perform application updates, including, but not limited to:term updates, personal information updates, and major changes
  • Review application materials to determine eligibility foradmission based on the requirements set by the University
  • Assist with on-campus recruitment and orientation eventsthroughout the year, including some mandatory events after hoursand on weekends
  • Answer routine student, parent and counselor inquiriesconcerning admissions policies and procedures
  • Work with Admissions Counselor(s) to meet enrollment goals

Proposed Salary

$18.90 per hour

This is a non-exempt position paid on a biweeklybasis.
