Laurel Square Rehabilitation & Healthcare in Philadelphia, PA seeks an Admissions Director to lead the admissions process and drive census growth at our 87-bed skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility.

The role serves as the primary contact for hospitals, referral sources, residents, and families, coordinating clinical and financial reviews and ensuring smooth transitions from referral to admission.

Qualifications

• Experience in admissions, marketing, business development, or referral management in healthcare.
• Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, managed care, and insurance authorization processes preferred.
• Strong communication, customer service, organizational, and follow-up skills.
• Ability to manage multiple referrals and priorities in a fast-paced setting.
• Proficiency with electronic referral platforms and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Review and respond to referrals promptly and accurately.
• Coordinate clinical and financial review with nursing, business office, therapy, and other departments.
• Verify insurance coverage, payer information, authorizations, and required admission documentation.
• Communicate professionally with hospitals, case managers, residents, and families.
• Conduct facility tours and explain available services and levels of care.
• Maintain referral, admission, denial, and conversion data.
• Participate in census and bed-management meetings.
• Coordinate room readiness and smooth transitions for new residents.
• Build relationships with hospitals, physicians, managed-care organizations, and partners.
• Conduct external marketing and referral-development activities as needed.
• Identify barriers to admission and work with leadership to resolve them promptly.
• Maintain compliance with regulations and HIPAA.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, with occasional evenings or weekends as needed

Laurel Square Rehabilitation & Healthcare is seeking an experienced, motivated, and relationship-driven Admissions Director to lead the admissions process and support census growth at our 87-bed skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility.

The Admissions Director will serve as the primary point of contact for hospital partners, referral sources, residents, and families. The ideal candidate is organized, responsive, knowledgeable about skilled nursing admissions, and able to move referrals efficiently from initial review through admission.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and respond to referrals promptly and accurately.
• Coordinate clinical and financial review with nursing, business office, therapy, and other departments.
• Verify insurance coverage, payer information, authorizations, and required admission documentation.
• Communicate professionally with hospitals, case managers, residents, and families throughout the admissions process.
• Conduct facility tours and explain available services and levels of care.
• Maintain accurate referral, admission, denial, and conversion data.
• Participate in daily census and bed-management meetings.
• Coordinate room readiness and ensure a smooth transition for each new resident.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with hospitals, physicians, managed-care organizations, and community referral partners.
• Conduct external marketing and referral-development activities as needed.
• Identify barriers to admission and work with facility leadership to resolve them promptly.
• Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations, HIPAA requirements, and facility policies.
• Participate in the facility’s on-call or weekend admissions coverage rotation as needed.

Qualifications

• Previous admissions, marketing, business development, or referral-management experience in a skilled nursing, rehabilitation, assisted living, hospital, or healthcare setting preferred.
• Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, managed care, and insurance authorization processes preferred.
• Strong communication, customer-service, organizational, and follow-up skills.
• Ability to manage multiple referrals and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with electronic referral platforms and Microsoft Office.
• Experience with PointClickCare, CarePort, NaviHealth, or similar systems is a plus.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
• Must be able to maintain confidential resident and healthcare information.
