Job summary

Laurel Square Rehabilitation & Healthcare in Philadelphia, PA seeks an Admissions Director to lead the admissions process and drive census growth at our 87-bed skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility.

The role serves as the primary contact for hospitals, referral sources, residents, and families, coordinating clinical and financial reviews and ensuring smooth transitions from referral to admission.

Qualifications

• Experience in admissions, marketing, business development, or referral management in healthcare.
• Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, managed care, and insurance authorization processes preferred.
• Strong communication, customer service, organizational, and follow-up skills.
• Ability to manage multiple referrals and priorities in a fast-paced setting.
• Proficiency with electronic referral platforms and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Review and respond to referrals promptly and accurately.
• Coordinate clinical and financial review with nursing, business office, therapy, and other departments.
• Verify insurance coverage, payer information, authorizations, and required admission documentation.
• Communicate professionally with hospitals, case managers, residents, and families.
• Conduct facility tours and explain available services and levels of care.
• Maintain referral, admission, denial, and conversion data.
• Participate in census and bed-management meetings.
• Coordinate room readiness and smooth transitions for new residents.
• Build relationships with hospitals, physicians, managed-care organizations, and partners.
• Conduct external marketing and referral-development activities as needed.
• Identify barriers to admission and work with leadership to resolve them promptly.
• Maintain compliance with regulations and HIPAA.
