Responsibilities

  • Lead admissions information sessions for prospective students (in-person or virtual).
  • Update presentations and the pre-session slideshow loop annually.
  • Conduct evaluative admissions interviews with recent applicants.
  • Assign ratings during the interview process.
  • Review first-year and transfer applications for potential admission.
  • Provide substantive comments for application file reviewers.
  • Serve as a member of an admissions mini committee.
  • Assist with recruitment in specific geographic regions.
  • Support campus programming (open houses, counselor fly-ins, yield programs).
  • Provide information about Wake Forest and higher education trends.
  • Lead tours in summer months as needed.
  • Respond promptly to inquiries from prospective students, parents, counselors, and community organizations.

Job Description Summary

Serve to recruit, evaluate, and enroll incoming classes of undergraduate students to Wake Forest University. Regularly exercises independent judgment and discretion on matters that impact admissions decisions. This is a two-year position that may be eligible for continuation.


Job Description

Essential Functions


  • Lead admissions information sessions for prospective students and other guests as the sole, partnered, or team presenter - both in-person or virtually.

  • Assist with updating the presentation and pre-session slideshow loop on a yearly basis (or more, as needed).

  • Conduct evaluative admissions interviews with recent applicants to the university.

  • Through the interview process, determine and assign ratings to each candidate.

  • During the application reading season, review applications (first year and transfer applications) for potential admission to the university.

  • Participate in the initial file review and assign a series of ratings, as well as provide substantive comments to be shared among application file reviewers.

  • Serve as a member of an admissions mini committee.

  • Assist with recruitment in specific geographic regions.

  • Support special campus programming (including but not limited to open houses, counselor fly-ins, and yield programing).

  • Provide information about Wake Forest University and be informed about the university, opportunities available, as well as higher education trends.

  • Available to lead tours in summer months (during summer school sessions) as dictated by demand/as needed basis.

  • Respond in a timely manner to inquiries from a variety of sources including prospective students, parents, counselors, and community-based organizations.
