Job summary

Recruiting students in assigned geographic area(s) and targeted populations, to assist in achieving enrollment goals for Cleveland State University ( CSU ). Builds relationships and communicates daily with prospective students, families, high schools, and community college counselors, managing selected correspondence, planning and executing on-and off-campus programs, representing CSU at college fairs and community events, and managing a travel schedule. Interprets and informs prospective students and families on CSU admissions policies and procedures. Maintains records and prepares reports. Works a flexible schedule including travel off-campus, evenings and weekends. Performs other functionally related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferably in business, communications or related field.
• Experience in one or more of the following areas: higher education or high school admissions recruitment, student activities, admissions counseling, marketing, sales, public relations, or related experience.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to establish driver eligibility under the University’s Motor Vehicle Policy.

Preferred Qualifications

• Two (2) years of experience in one or more of the following areas: college or university admissions recruitment, college student activities, high school or college level admissions counseling, recruitment, marketing, sales, public relations, or related experience.
• Experience using social media and networked communications.
• Experience using customer relations management software.
• Experience working with diverse student populations, which may include various high school and non-traditional students.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

• Outstanding written and interpersonal communication skills as evidenced by application materials.
• Prior experience with public speaking.
• Effective organization of time and tasks including the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects.
• Ability to travel frequently and to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint.
