Job summary

Norfolk State University is seeking an Admissions Counselor to represent the university at college fairs, high school visits, and community events. The role requires travel in-state and out-of-state, including weekends, to recruit prospective students nationwide and build lasting relationships with counselors and schools.

The ideal candidate will have experience with higher education technology, CRM systems, and strong oral and written communication to engage families throughout the admissions

Qualifications

• Experience using technology in a higher education setting.
• Familiar with CRM, social media, and website recruitment tools.
• Experience with Colleague and Informer preferred.
• Excellent spoken and written communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Represent the university at college fairs, high school visits, and community engagements; travel required.
• Develop relationships with alumni recruiters and key contacts in assigned territory.
• Assist in coordinating and implementing recruitment events and strategies to increase campus visits and yield.
• Provide admissions presentations to campus visitors and respond to inquiries.
• Communicate with applicants to obtain missing documents or updated credentials within 48 business hours.
