Job summary

Calvert County Nursing Center is seeking an Admissions Coordinator to support the Admissions Director in meeting census goals by coordinating the facility's patient flow, admissions process, referrals, and sign-in.

The role partners with the clinical team to ensure accurate census reporting, timely follow-up on referrals, and smooth tours for families and providers, while upholding resident dignity and a positive facility image.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks.
• 2-3 years in Admissions/Marketing in healthcare.
• Long-Term care experience required.
• Knowledge of Medicare and third-party billing.
• Understanding of medical terminology.
• Detail-oriented with strong customer service.
• Able to travel locally by personal automobile.

Responsibilities

• Records information concerning inquiries, admissions, and discharges and assists with daily census reports.
• Assists with keeping daily and monthly records of census, matching up numbers with the Business Office for accuracy.
• Follow up with all referrals in a timely manner.
• Schedules and conducts facility tours for customers, families, and referrals.
• Ensure paperwork is signed and distributed according to Admission Sign-In policy.
• Work closely with Admissions Director, Administrator, and clinical staff to maintain admissions/discharges/transfers.
• Review performance statistics including customer flow, pending and lost inquiries, denials, hospital discharges, and sales activity.
• Assist with promotions, publications, and newsletters, etc.
• Coordinate presentations to hospitals, physicians, and other referral sources.
• Serve as point-of-contact when Admissions Director is out of the office.
