Job summary

The Admissions Coordinator at Rehabilitation Hospital of Indiana (RHI) oversees the intake of inpatient referrals, ensuring complete biographical and financial data before admission. The role supports care coordination and ensures accurate information flows among the interdisciplinary team to initiate program services.

Responsibilities include managing admissions, obtaining necessary documentation, and guiding patients and families through service overview while aligning expectations with care

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Associate degree in related field (Equivalent certification or experience considered).
• Current valid Indiana license or certification if incumbent is clinical.
• Rehabilitation experience and/or health care admissions experience preferred.
• Strong clinical background and/or certification preferred.
• Experience in a health care environment working with insurance verification, registration, scheduling, and/or patient access desired.

Responsibilities

• Manages and assists with the Admissions office to facilitate intake of referrals to RHI Programs.
• Obtains applicable medical documentation as needed and reviews for completeness.
• Provides patient and/or family with overview of services and aligns expectations.
• Ensures all supporting documentation is uploaded into Cerner before admission.
• Communicates medical information to the physiatrist to facilitate admission and care continuity.
