Primary Purpose of Position
The Administrative Support Specialist's principal responsibilities will be to support the Department Chair and the administrative needs of faculty who direct academic programs in the Department, including creating and maintaining reports on course offerings, program participants (conducting focus reports, processing internships), statistics (e.g., student progression and retention), and/or the effectiveness/ and accreditation of our academic programs. Duties also include faculty-related processes such as grant-related purchasing and management support, faculty hiring, and travel.
Minimum Education/Experience Required
Graduation from high school and one year of related office experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Essential Job Duties
Support Unit Head in administering the Department, including: scheduling meetings, producing minutes, handling confidential personnel records, working with budgets, and facilitating purchasing & travel requests for faculty.

- Experience creating and maintaining reports, supporting management, faculty hiring, and travel
- Experience working with budgets and processing grant-related purchases.
- Discretion and attention to detail with strong oral and written communication skills.
- The individual must be organized and able to work well with other units.
