As an Administrative Specialist for Parking Services, you willserve as a welcoming, front-facing resource for students, faculty,staff, and visitors while supporting the day-to-day operations ofParking Services. You will process ePermit sales and billing,assist with Shocker Assist and ADA mobility rides, and supervisestudent employees to help ensure services are delivered efficientlyand professionally.

The ideal candidate is organized,detail-oriented, and able to manage administrative responsibilitiesaccurately while responding to the needs of a diverse campuscommunity. Performs a variety of professional and administrative duties thatfacilitate the operations of a function(s), program(s), and/ordepartment(s).
Supports the programs and services provided by the department(s) byperforming varied or related processes which may include creatingand maintaining databases and websites, monitoring, facilitating,and enforcing compliance with established criteria, guidelines andstandards, etc. May coordinate, attend, prepare materials forand/or take minutes at meetings and special events. May prepare orassist in the preparation of budgets, grant applications,proposals, status reports and/or financial statements. May identifyand pursue ways to improve the efficiency and effectiveness ofadministrative procedures used by students, faculty, visitors andstaff. May order and maintain sufficient inventory of officesupplies and equipment. May be assigned to lead, assist, coordinateor support special projects as needed.
This position will have unescorted access in the Parking ServicesBuilding. In order to comply with the FBI’s Criminal JusticeInformation Systems (CJIS) and KBI’s Kansas Criminal JusticeInformation Systems (KCJIS) requirements, the person hired for thisposition must undergo additional background requirements includingverification of identification, a state of residency and nationalfingerprint-based record checks. Selected candidate must be a USCitizen.
Ability to remain in a stationary position. Ability to operate acomputer and other office equipment including but not limited tophone, printers, copiers, and calculators. Ability to communicatewith others and accurately exchange information.
Sedentary: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or anegligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry,push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involvesremaining stationary most of the time.
