Foster anenvironment and relationships where seeking guidance is encouraged,promoting a proactive approach to problem-solving and compliancerather than a reactive, forgiveness-based mindset. This requires aproactive individual who can build strong relationships withstudents, faculty, hiring managers and other groups to ensure thesuccessful hiring of individuals hopeful to join ShockerNation!
Advises and assists leadership and staff with human resourcesprograms, policies and procedures related to human resourcesfunctional area.
Provides proactive support in the development and communication ofhuman resources programs, policies and procedures; reviews,analyzes, recommends and develops new programs, policies andprocedures. Consults with and advises Human Resources BusinessPartners and leadership on human resources programs, policies andprocedures. Provides prompt resolution of requests and questionsspecific to functional area, which may have been escalated due tothe specialized nature. Serves as a subject matter expert infunctional area; educates staff to ensure consistent and equitableapplication of policies and procedures. Identifies issues that mayhinder the University's progress on strategic initiatives andrecommends appropriate interventions, as needed.
Meet with hiring managers to advise on best practices for thehiring process including interviewing aspects, ATS appropriate use,WSU policy guidelines, & etc. Build rapport with areas of the university you're supporting tobecome a sought-after expert pertaining to all things hiringrelated. Documentation and focus on details related to intake meetings withdepts, information in ATS system, policies, & processesutilized for different hire types. Perform regular audits, I9 appointments, trainings & reportingneeds. Take part in full recruitment lifecycle, acting as primary orbackup role depending on assignment &/or strengths skillset ofteam. Identifies training needs for business units and individualcoaching needs while contributing to the larger trainings providedto the university.
