The department of Agricultural Education, Leadership and Communications (AELC) in CALS at the UI has two undergraduatedegree programs. One is focused on agricultural education leadingto teacher certification and the other is agricultural science,communication and leadership which aids candidates to help tell thestory of agriculture in multiple formats. We also offer an M.S.degree in AELC. Our students come from many states and thedepartment values its interaction and communication with them asthey explore opportunities for their future.
The position works with a high degree of initiative to provideadvanced operational and programmatic support to visitors, studentsand employees by navigating and advising others on a variety ofadministrative processes, procedures and cyclical calendars ofactivities critical to the operation of the unit within the broaderuniversity. The position may serve as first point of contact forthe department while also performing administrative functions suchas researching information and solving problems for faculty, staffand students, and providing program and/or event assistance.
