Job summary

The State of Ohio, Ohio State Highway Patrol, is seeking an Administrative Professional 2 in Columbus to support regulatory, clerical, and records management functions within Public Safety. The role interfaces with multiple state processes and requires attention to detail and effective communication.

This full-time position offers a 7:30am–4:00pm schedule, a compensation of $23.65 per hour, and benefits under the OCSEA union.

Qualifications

  • 18 mos. exp. or 18 mos. trg. in secretarial/administrative professional field.
  • Or completion of associate core coursework in secretarial science or business office applications.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to inquiries and information requests requiring knowledge of applicable laws, rules, policies and procedures.
  • Process transactions involving collection of money.
  • Operate computer to retrieve data and provide status of files or cases.
  • Review case files prior to release of information to OSHP Districts or HQ staff.
  • Coordinate rooms and appointments; maintain and update files; prepare and generate reports.

What You\'ll Do as an Administrative Professional 2
  • Respond to inquiries, information requests, & handling complaints that require in-depth knowledge of applicable laws, rules, policies & procedures regarding traffic crash records, air traffic crash records, case investigations, background investigations, polygraphs, blood & alcohol results.
  • Process transactions that require collection of money.
  • Operate personal computer to retrieve/look-up data to verify/give out information or give status of file/case.
  • Review case files prior to release of information to OSHP Districts, General Headquarters Staff &/or other authorized staff.
  • Coordinate rooms & appointments; Maintain & update files; Prepare, compose & generate reports & correspondence.

Qualifications
  • Option 1: 18 mos. exp. or 18 mos. trg. in secretarial/administrative professional field.

  • Option 3: -Or 6 mos. exp. as Administrative Professional 1, 16871. -Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.
