Job summary

Ohio Department of Public Safety - Ohio Investigative Unit in Columbus, OH, is seeking an Administrative Professional 1 to perform clerical duties, compose routine correspondence, and support district office operations. Hours are 8:00am to 4:45pm, with a full-time schedule and OCSEA union affiliation.

Ideal candidates will have 1 year of secretarial or business office experience, or relevant training; benefits include multiple pay increases and free parking.

Qualifications

  • 1 yr training or 1 yr experience in secretarial science or business office applications.
  • For positions requiring technical terminology, 6 mos training or 6 mos experience in relevant terminology.

Responsibilities

  • Composes, types, and may sign routine correspondences.
  • Types from oral instructions and dictation correspondence, reports and confidential material pertaining to operation of district office.
  • Researches and prepares reports, answers questions and responds to requests in areas not requiring personal attention of supervisor.
  • Prepares typed copy from oral or written instructions, correspondence, reports and confidential material pertaining to the District Office.
  • Performs routine clerical tasks (e.g., order supplies, answers phones, takes messages, screens and directs calls to proper personnel, maintains files and retrieves information, copies and distributes material accordingly).
