Cardinal Health's California Urology location seeks a Clinical Administrative role to handle referrals, scheduling, and insurance authorizations. You will work closely with physicians and pathology to coordinate tests and ensure proper documentation in EMR, delivering timely patient updates.

Qualifications

• Medical Assistant Certificate from an accredited educational institution preferred.
• Strong customer service background, preferably in healthcare environment.

Responsabilités

• Processes all out bound referrals in a timely manner, prioritizes urgent and STAT items appropriately.
• Ensures all pertinent paperwork regarding patient referrals is completed and documented in EMR.
• Scheduling of patient follow-ups, non-treatment related. Scheduling of labs and port flushes appropriately and correctly.
• Provides effective insurance authorization as needed. Submits all necessary documentation and proper diagnosis to insurance when submitting authorization.
• Keeps patients informed of status of referrals/authorizations.
• Demonstrates excellent customer service skills, both on the phone and in person.
• Processes genetic testing and coordinates with pathology departments to ensure proper specimens are sent.
• Complete tasks as stated in the Admin MA SOP
• Back up clinical MA when needed.
• Effectively completes other duties and projects as assigned.
