Cardinal Health in Clovis, CA is hiring an Administrative Medical Assistant for the California Urology clinic. This full-time, in-person role supports patient referrals, scheduling follow-ups, coordinating labs and port flushes, and handling insurance authorizations.

The position emphasizes accurate EMR documentation and strong customer service. You will back up the clinical medical assistant when needed, coordinate genetic testing with pathology, and ensure timely communication with patients

Qualifications

• Medical Assistant Certificate preferred.
• Strong customer service background, preferably in healthcare.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Processes all outbound referrals in a timely manner.
• Ensures all paperwork regarding patient referrals is documented in EMR.
• Scheduling of patient follow-ups, labs and port flushes.
• Provides effective insurance authorization as needed.
• Back up clinical MA when needed.
• Coordinates genetic testing with pathology to ensure proper specimens are sent.
• Keeps patients informed of status of referrals/authorizations.
