Gurwin Healthcare System in Commack, NY is seeking a full-time Administrative Assistant to provide administrative support for our Wellness department and help deliver compassionate resident care. You will work Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 5:00pm, coordinating scheduling, handling clerical tasks, and assisting residents, staff and visitors.

We are currently seeking a full-time Administrative Assistant to provide administrative support for our Wellness department and who will embody the passion and commitment required to deliver the ultimate care for our residents. You will be scheduled to work Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 5:00pm.
Ability to meet the clerical needs of the residents and successfully interact with all departments in the facility. May require lifting and bending.
Provide assistance to residents and wellness staff as necessary.
Effectively schedule and communicate Ambulette transportation appointments to resident as needed. Able to coordinate any changes in appointment dates and times with the Transportation Department as needed.
Responsible for ordering department office supplies and the operation of office equipment, i.e.: copier, fax and computer, as it relates to department needs.
Assist residents, staff and visitors as they enter the Wellness Department. Arranges and controls the flow of the waiting room with residents to be evaluated by M.D.
Maintains an ongoing list and follow-up appointment list for doctors evaluating residents in the facility.
Maintains wellness department schedule and assists in facilitating coverage for open shifts
Other related duties as directed.
