The Wolfforth Police Department is seeking an Administrative Assistant (Open until Filled) to handle clerical tasks in a non-supervisory role. You will file and manage information, answer calls, greet visitors, and route requests to staff while maintaining records and supporting public records compliance.

It is the intent of the Wolfforth Police Department to recruit and employ those persons who are most qualified for the position to be filled. The Department will strive to utilize methods for selection of employees that measure traits or characteristics that are a significant part of the job.
In order to qualify for the position of Police Officer, all applicants SHALL:(1) meet the minimum educational requirements;(A) Must have graduated from high school; or(B) If not a High School Graduate, possess a G.E.D. certificate WITH at least 12 semester hours of credit from an accredited college or university with at least a 2.0 grade point average. College transcripts must accompany the application for G.E.D. certificate holders.(2) Possess a current telecommunicator license issued by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement, or be eligible to enrolled in a Texas Commission on Law Enforcement telecommunicator Course.(4) not currently be under indictment for any criminal offense;(5) have not ever have been on court-ordered community supervision or probation for any criminal offense above the grade of Class B misdemeanor or a Class B misdemeanor within the last ten years from the date of the court order;(6) have not ever been convicted of an offense above the grade of a Class B misdemeanor or a Class B misdemeanor within the last ten years(7) have not ever been convicted of any family violence offense;(8) not be prohibited by state or federal law from operating a motor vehicle;(9) not be prohibited by state or federal law from possessing firearms or ammunition;(10) have not received a discharge from any military service, if prior military service, under less than honorable conditions including, specifically,(A) under other than honorable conditions;(B) bad conduct;(C) dishonorable; or(D) any other characterization of service indicating bad character;(11) be a U.S. citizen(12) Possess a valid driver's license not in jeopardy of suspension. No driver's license suspension within the last 2 years. No more than 2 moving violation convictions within the last 12 months and no more than 5 moving violation convictions within the last 24 months. Be covered by a current motor vehicle liability insurance policy. A valid Texas driver's license will be required at the time of appointment.(13) Be of good moral character as confirmed by a thorough, comprehensive background investigation. information obtained during the background check, and the applicant's performance during the interview session. Prior to any background check, each applicant must show proof that they currently possess a current telecommunicator license issued by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement, or be eligible to obtain certification.
Each applicant will be required to complete the packet and return it to the police department prior to the deadline date issued by the department. The police department will conduct a thorough background investigation. All information will be confirmed. Omissions or falsifications are grounds for rejection.
Applicants with acceptable backgrounds will be interviewed for the position of administrative assistant by an interview panel.
The Chief of Police will make the final hiring decision. Once a decision is made the applicant will receive a conditional job offer. The conditional offer of employment is conditional upon passing a drug screen, medical evaluation, and psychological evaluation.
