Job summary

University of South Carolina seeks an organized Administrative Assistant to support the Maintenance Teams. You will handle payroll processing in PeopleSoft, maintain personnel records, and serve as the primary contact for the department both in person and by phone.

The role requires strong administrative skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage schedules, attendance, and on-call calendars while collaborating with leadership to keep operations running smoothly.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent; 1 year work experience related to the job, or high school diploma with 5 years directly related experience.
  • Experience in tracking and entering time worked into a payroll system.

Responsibilities

  • Processes payroll for the maintenance staff in PeopleSoft.
  • Prepares and manages personnel paperwork and updates staff rosters.
  • Answers calls, handles reception, and manages calendars and scheduling.
  • Maintains uniform inventory and orders uniforms; submits monthly mileage sheets.
  • Creates attendance reports and maintenance on-call calendars.
