Job summary

University of South Carolina Upstate is seeking an Administrative Assistant to provide comprehensive administrative, financial, and logistical support to the department in Spartanburg, SC. The role assists faculty, leadership, staff, and students through essential systems, events coordination, and fiscal processes.

Responsibilities include calendar management, meeting coordination, budget tracking, and coordination of adjunct hiring logistics.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years related experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking abilities are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support for unit leadership, including calendar management, meeting coordination, agendas, and minutes.
  • Assist with departmental processes, procedures, and systems; act as central hub for department operations.
  • Coordinate purchasing, reimbursements, invoicing and other financial transactions per policies.
  • Track and organize budget data and support financial reporting for leadership.
  • Coordinate hiring logistics for adjuncts and searches as needed.
  • Plan and coordinate department and college events, ceremonies, fairs, workshops, and initiatives.
  • Serve as first point of contact for public, colleagues, and students; monitor emails and Teams inquiries.
