Job Title: Administrative Assistant II - Austin, TX

Job Summary

The Administrative Assistant II provides administrative support by completing data entry of public water system data, reviewing monthly reports, conducting quality assurance on processes and workloads, and performing other administrative tasks as needed for the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) Water Supply Division. The position is located in Austin.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • One (1) year of administrative work experience or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience in a similar role.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Six (6) months of work experience with TCEQ, knowledge of rules and regulations.
  • Four (4) years of administrative work experience within a team environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Arrange meetings, conferences, and workshops; prepare agendas; take meeting notes/minutes.
  • Prepare and review reports for upper management.
  • Assist in assigning tasks to team members; track and monitor department workload, productivity, and backlog.
  • Perform quality control of processes and workloads; provide status updates to upper management.
  • Enter data, perform filing and coding.
  • Interpret and implement administrative decisions and policies; serve as an administrative liaison with other departments and outside organizations.
  • Train and mentor staff members; supervise departmental support staff.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
