Job description

Position:Administrative Assistant / Customer Liason

Location: Kansas City, MO

Job Id:2830

# of Openings:1

Reports To: General Manager

Are you highly organized, proactive, and comfortable handling difficult conversations? Do you enjoy supporting a leader, helping people, and making sure commitments turn into action?

Cable Dahmer Automotive Group is seeking an Administrative Assistant / Customer Liaison to partner directly with the dealership’s General Manager. This position combines administrative support with responsibility for coordinating employee satisfaction and engagement (ESI) and customer satisfaction and loyalty (CSI/NPS).

Your mission is to protect the General Manager’s time while keeping them informed about what matters most. You will help organize priorities, identify concerns requiring leadership attention, and ensure customer and employee feedback receives meaningful follow-through.

This is a hands-on role not a traditional desk-only assistant position. You will work closely with the GM, department managers, employees, and customers, maintaining a visible presence throughout the dealership.

What You’ll Do
Support the General Manager & Protect Their Time
  • Manage the GM’s calendar, meeting requests, delegated communications, and daily priorities, protecting time for leadership and essential business responsibilities.
  • Determine which matters you can resolve, which belong with a department manager, and which require the GM’s personal attention.
  • Provide daily updates on important customer concerns, employee feedback, outstanding commitments, and emerging issues. Bring clear facts, recommended next steps, and decisions needed.
  • Coordinate meetings, prepare agendas and supporting information, arrange logistics, and track action items, responsible parties, and deadlines.
Serve as the Customer Liaison & Manage CSI/NPS Follow-Through
  • Monitor CSI/NPS results, customer surveys, online reviews, and assigned feedback channels. Maintain accurate reports and bring trends and improvement opportunities to leadership.
  • Serve as a trusted point of contact for unresolved customer concerns. Listen, gather facts, document communications, and coordinate timely solutions across departments.
  • Conduct or coordinate customer callbacks, verify promised actions are completed, and maintain ownership of follow-through from initial concern through documented resolution.
  • Coordinate CSI/NPS reviews and work with department managers to address recurring concerns, strengthen communication, and prevent repeat issues.
  • Resolve routine matters within approved authority and promptly escalated complex financial, safety, legal, or other sensitive concerns to the appropriate leadership.
Support Employee Satisfaction & Engagement
  • Coordinate Dealership & CSI meetings with feedback activities, track results, and follow up on agreed improvement actions.
  • Support employee communication, recognition, onboarding touchpoints, and engagement activities.
  • Identify recurring employee concerns and communication gaps, keeping the GM informed and routing sensitive employee matters to Human Resources and appropriate leadership.
Stay Connected to the Dealership
  • Spend time in the showroom and service areas to identify concerns early and help prevent missed handoffs or unresolved issues.
  • Build strong relationships across departments and respectfully follow up on commitments. Support managers’ accountability without taking over their responsibilities.
What We’re Looking For
  • Experience in administrative support, customer relations, customer liaison services, or a similar role requiring organization, judgment, and consistent follow-through.
  • Dealership experience preferred, including familiarity with sales, service, financing, or other customer-facing dealership operations.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to remain calm, listen objectively, and handle difficult conversations professionally.
  • Excellent organization and prioritization skills, including confidence using email, calendars, spreadsheets, customer relationship management systems, and performance reports.
  • Sound judgment, discretion with sensitive information, and the ability to take initiative while recognizing when an issue requires escalation.
What Success Looks Like

The GM is informed, prepared, and focused on the right priorities. Customers receive timely communication and complete follow-through. Employee feedback leads to action. Department leaders understand their commitments, and important issues are addressed before they become larger problems.

You should be approachable and empathetic, with the confidence to address concerns directly and hold others accountable respectfully. We are looking for someone who notices what needs attention, takes ownership, and follows through, not someone who waits to be told what to do.
