Job summary

Backyard Products is seeking an Administrative Assistant to support field operations and ensure smooth installation experiences for customers and independent contractors. You will coordinate scheduling, manage documentation, and handle orders, invoices, and CRM records from the Elgin, IL area.

The role requires strong communication, organizational skills, and the ability to multitask in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in administrative, customer service, or contractor coordination.
• Proficient with Excel, Outlook, Word; CRM or scheduling systems a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to multitask and prioritize in a deadline-driven environment.
• Experience with 1099 contractors or field service is desirable.
• High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate scheduling and assignments for 1099 contractors.
• Maintain contractor documentation (W-9s, insurance, background checks).
• Communicate job requirements and updates to contractors.
• Answer calls and manage customer expectations.
• Create and process orders, work orders, and invoices.
• Schedule installations and coordinate fulfillment among customers, contractors, and internal teams.
• Handle purchasing supplies and maintain CRM records.
