Qualifications

Job Description:

Provides administrative support in a diverse range of functions tosupport management and facilitates the daily work. Assists inprogram or departmental direction by relieving supervision ofroutine and non-routine administrative duties. Providesinformation, prepares correspondence and reports, maintainscalendars, monitors budget expenditures for the department,resolves administrative problems and/or makes recommendations oncourse of action.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Associate’s degree in business management, secretarial science, orrelated field is required.
  • o Equivalent combination of education & work experience can beaccepted in lieu of required education.
  • At least one (1) year of recent secretarial experience; at ahigher level preferred.
  • Knowledge of organizational procedures and operations and theability to analyze and make recommendations.
  • Knowledge of general office practices and procedures.
  • Knowledge of the methods, principles and techniques associatedwith research, data collection and report writing.
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting practices andprocedures and the procedures and practices of preparing andcontrolling operating and capital budgets.
  • Knowledge of contract development, administration, andmonitoring, as required.
  • Knowledge and ability in the use of computers and peripheralequipment such as printers.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data and write reports.
  • Ability to deal tactfully and equitably with people and toeffectively communicate.
  • Ability to use personal computers and applications necessary tocollect and analyze data and access and produce budget andprocurement documents and changes.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and carry out written and/orverbal instruction, detail oriented and accurate.
  • Ability to attend meetings.
  • Organizational skills, communication skills, and ability tomulti-task.
  • Manage confidential information and always maintainconfidentiality, including FERPA, HIPAA or any otherconfidentiality requirements/policies.
  • Ability to learn and use any University employee information andfinancial information systems required.
  • Typing skills and accuracy of at least 60 WPM (test may beadministered)
Preferred:
  • Advanced computer skills required including Word, Excel,PowerPoint, Outlook and One Drive. Experience with scheduling,calendars, and e-mail required. Experience with Access,SurveyMonkey and Sign-Up Genius, Microsoft Forms or comparablepreferred.
  • Knowledge in general office procedures/practices in a healthcaresetting preferred.
  • Experience with Symplr or another electronic payrollpreferred.
